Sports car vs John Deere tractor

October 12, 2021

A MVA involving a sports car and a John Deere farm tractor required a response from our team. Firefighters Billy Snider and Lana Moody came upon the accident scene in the 2200 block of Mocksville Highway. The sports car driver stated he did not see the slow moving farm tractor traveling west on Mocksville Highway. Tractor operator stated he had his lights on and his flashers as well. The car hit the tractor from behind and the driver went off the roadway into a field about 10 feet below road grade. Fortunately no one was seriously injured. Both drivers were checked out by our members. We remained on the scene until NCSHP arrived and the crashed car could be loaded onto a rollback. Crews from Engine 2 and Squad controlled traffic around the scene until the car was loaded and debris was swept from the roadway. The tractor was left in the field as the owner decided to come back during the day to better see how to remove the tractor.
