18 firefighters from our department took part in a practice burn hosted by our neighboring department Rowan-Iredell Volunteer Fire Department. The two story home was located on Rary Road and provided a good opportunity for our newest firefighters to get their first experience in live fire conditions. Our veteran firefighters not only led our crews but they also were the lead instructors for the entire evolution. Firefighters from several departments from Rowan, Davie and Iredell Counties were represented. The burn was a success. All those participating each had a chance to be the nozzle man or woman and everyone went home safely afterwards. Thanks to Fire Chief Webb and Rowan-Iredell VFD for inviting us to be a part of this.
