Engine 1, Squad 1, Brush 1 and Chief 200 responded to a single vehicle accident in the 1900 block of Mocksville Highway. The SUV left the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle was under the tree upon arrival of crews. There were four occupants in the vehicle with one pinned in the drivers seat and another was pinned under the vehicle. Personnel worked with the crew from Iredell Rescue 17 and Iredell EMS units IMED 3, IMED 11 and Supervisor IMED 1. Brush 1 was requested to the scene to provide extra chainsaws to remove the tree to get access to extricate those trapped. Victim under the vehicle was removed first and transported to the hospital along with other two occupants. Driver was extricated and transported to trauma center via NC Baptist Air Care. Total extrication time was 50 minutes.
