On February 12th the Iredell County Board of Commissioners approved the funding of our new firehouse to be located at 672 Mocksville Highway. This is just east of our current location. The new firehouse will not only house our operations but also have a County EMS base, satellite office for the Iredell County Sheriff's Office and Iredell Rescue Squad will have space to house a Heavy Rescue truck. There will be a community room that citizens can reserve for many purposes and it will also be a polling place in the future. The building is 24,001 square feet. Ground breaking is projected for May of 2016 with the project being completed by the Fall of 2017. D.R. Reynolds Company is the general contractor.
