MVA - Tractor Trailer vs. Oak Tree
Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

By Chief Andy Webster
January 13, 2020

A tractor trailer driver lost control on a wet Bell Farm Road while approaching the traffic light at Mocksville Highway. The truck left the roadway and hit a large oak tree in the front yard of the Abilene Church of Christ. The collision was loud enough that it was heard and felt at our firehouse. Engine 2 and Chief 200 arrived at the scene and found the driver was out of the vehicle and not in need of medical care. Traffic was rerouted as the recovery company removed the truck and trailer. There was a loss of diesel from the truck which caused the tree to be removed at a later date. Iredell EMS and Iredell Rescue also responded to the scene.

Units: Engine 2, Squad 1, Chief 200
