Squad 1 and Foam 1 responded to assist West Iredell Fire Department on a tractor trailer fire in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 at the 140 mile marker. The truck had crashed and caught fire hauling 9000 pounds of tubes for toothpaste. Foam 1 was requested to augment their foam supply on scene. Foam 1 carries two 265 gallon totes of 1%-3% AFFF foam as well as two large capacity inductors and varies foam appliances. Deputy Chief Tom Groff and Firefighter Chris Owen responded the unit to the scene.
