Recently the members of Cool Springs Fire Department received an invitation for supper on behalf of the members of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Once we arrived we were welcomed in to the fellowship hall with a smell like no other. Now if you are not from the south or never been to the south you will never appreciate this smell. The members went above and beyond to prepare, fried and baked chicken, chicken pot pie, macaroni and cheese, hash brown casserole, cabbage, pintos w/chow chow, potato salad, cole slaw, corn bread and dessert. Our members enjoyed the lovely meal and fellowship with this great bunch of people. This supper was even more special because in 2007 we had a fire at this facility. During a storm the building was struck by lightning. units arrived on scene to find heavy fire visible. After some time the fire was under control. The pastor thanked us for what we did that day and everyday. This is why we do what we do. Thank you again Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.
