Cool Springs was dispatched out to a possible house fire on Cool Springs rd. with County Line and Rowan-Iredell to assist. County Line units arrived on scene first to find light smoke in the residence. Cool Springs Engine 3 arrived on scene shortly after with a full crew and started helping investigate where the smoke was coming from. Units on scene did not encounter any fire, just smoke inside the residence. After investigating the fire was determined to be put out by the quick thinking of the homeowner prior to our arrival. The fire departments on scene worked together to get the smoke out of the residence and made sure to check for extension of fire in the attic. One patient was transported to a local hospital for burns. The homeowner did have working smoke detectors which they stated woke them up from bed. After the smoke was out of the house all units cleared the scene. Cool Springs would like to thank all the departments that assisted.
