On Sunday, October 2, Cool Springs Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire with multiple calls. Fire Chief Andy Webster arrived on scene shortly after dispatch and advised we had a working fire in a large structure. County Line, Wayside and Rowan Iredell were all dispatched on the initial call. Command requested tankers from Harmony, Ebenezer along with Statesville and Harmony to respond their ladder trucks. Tankers were requested due to the home setting so far off of the road and no water supply close. Cool Springs E1 arrived on the scene and immediately started a defensive strategy with the deck gun on the "A" side of the structure. E2 arrived just behind and set up same situation on the "B" side of the structure. Cool Springs Tanker 1 arrived on the scene and set up a drop tank operation to E1 to supply the 2 Towers that were en route. Once Statesville Tower 1 and Harmony Ladder 40 arrived on scene all operations switched to an elevated stream. After several hours and a lot of hard work by all involved the fire was under control.
